Velykis Gintautas "UnCage Solo Guitar Improvisations"

I feel very fortunate to have a job that fulfills my soul on a spiritual level. It is the countless hours spent alone improvising on the guitar where I find my center artistically and personally.
........
His earliest musical inspiration came from the spiky sounds of improvising guitarist DiMeola and violinist Ponty; later on Velykis absorbed the subtle string textures of the traditional music of Lithuania, particularly India.
..........
Uncage art's restless creativity unearthed many new and unconventional electric guitar techniques, and he combined these innovations with a strong sense of logic and concise development, often aided by sophisticated sound-processing devices.

............
Work-In-Progress:

currently working on a solo CD of
improvised mixes and sound collage
.........
This dedicated to the exploration of musical possibilities lying somewhere among the complexities of the traditionally composed, radically improvised, noisily sonificated, and realized with midi interface.
.............
What is uncage's music? it is a shift away from the classical jazz paradigm.
Musician who simply want to get new music that create and admire performed.
.......
Velykis is sensitive to all casual and sophisticated environments. He has performed in cafes, galleries, clubs, small scenes.

The demo .............. is a compilation of his most recent compositions. These live recordings were produced throughout the time that he past between painting.
His music is full of drive and emotion.

STUFF!

.............
His phrases smash through the iron bars with a gestural panache that has never heretofore been achieved by Lithuanian electric guitarists.
.............
Very nicely, very guitary and also great fun.
..............
Avant garde maximalism, cheery music hall, cellar-groove, unclean blues and mystic part of heavy metal are amongst the delightful elements compressed into cage's kinetics.
................
Alternating imaginative and idiosyncratic sounds arrangements with dazzling soloing, incredible passages of free playing, and large dollops of grooves.
...............
This fusion of fall-take with passionate musicianship succeeds in laying bare the process by which music manipulates our emotions.
.............
Player makes its appearance of the Uncageart in a performance for guitar and painting full of drama and colour.
............
His playing creates a fresh and individual sound featuring and irresistible rhythms, virtuoso improvisation, evocative melodies and powerful resonances of Classical, African and Indian music.
............
Uncageart guitar as sound source for improvisation may sound like some instruments played simultaneously at different speeds, it may sound like a birds dancing in your ears, or it may sound just like noise.
...........
Musician focuses on the percussive and rhythmic sound spectrum to structure the music because all the pieces are improvised and recorded in real time.
..........
He will challenge your preconceived notions of improvisation and the traditional role of guitars and other instruments as sound sources.
